Club Analysis: Collingwood

 This season Collingwood have won 5585 disposals making them the 9th ranked team in the AFL, but it is the way they have used these disposals that has been delightful. Collingwood has kicked the ball more than any other side this year with 3579 kicks and only 2006 handballs. This fantastic Kick:Handball ratio ranks them as the 4th highest scoring side……

Two Collingwood players in particular, Alan Didak and Paul Medhurst, have  really taken on board this trend and between them have amassed 505 kicks and have only chose to handball the ball a measly 103 times this year. This gives these boys a phenomenal Kick:Handball ratio of 5:1. Along with this great stat Alan Didak averages 1.3 goals per game and Medhurst a staggering 2.8. Using these little facts and others gathered from various sources it can be predicted that if either of these players receive only  20 disposals in a game, they will score at least 90 valuable DT points.

 

Just remember to check out the Kick:Handball ratio next time you go to trade a player (if you have any trades left).
