- Chad is gone for 2008
Yes it is the big news of day – for those who don’t speak German is of course the news that ‘Super Chad’ has finally called this year quits after being plagued by a broken finger, knee problem and shoulder problem.
The Legend himself said to Choco that ’He reckoned he had one more game left in him’ last week. It seems that Chad may have needed surgery weeks ago but kept playing to achieve his final goal for the year, getting a win over Adelaide in the showdown!
So now he goes in to be fixed up ready to go when the Power start pre-season training in late October/early November.Cornes will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder and knee this week and will also have the pin in his broken finger removed at a later stage.
In better news, Dean Cox is expected to play next week and is unlikely to get surgery on his foot this year.
West Coast denied suggestions ruckman Dean Cox was at risk of doing more damage to his injured foot by playing on this season. Cox has been hampered by the injury for most of the year and again copped a knock to it on the weekend from Lions midfielder Luke Power, but he will be right to tackle the Saints.
“He is ready to go, his foot is OK,” They said today.
“He got a bit of a kick on it, I think he was trying to clear the footy out of a stoppage and kicked Luke Power, so he’s fine. He pulled up really well and will be right for this week.”
