Tribunal News

Well the biggy here is the news that goes with Docker Dean Solomon who can kiss 2008 goodbye after being found guilty of striking Cameron Ling and being suspended for a whopping 8 weeks. Probably a little too inconsistent to be in the majority of Dream Teams – at least in good teams anyway.

However, it’s still one of the biggest issues of the round, if not the year so what do we think?? Fair?? Unfair? Post your thoughts in the comments below and click read more for all the other tribunal news including West Coast Star Onballer Daniel Kerr and Freo’s other infamous tagger Ryan Crowley!

Ryan Crowley has been charged with a Level Two striking offence against Gary Ablett, Geelong, during the first quarter of the Round 15 match between Fremantle and Geelong. He was going to get away with a reprimand but due to his bad record in the past he has been been offered a one match suspension. However he won his case and is free to play this weekend.

Daniel Pratt has been charged with a Level Two misconduct offence after he made unnecessary contact to the face of Brett Ebert, during the third quarter against Port Adelaide. Like Crowley he won his case and can play this week rather than do his suspension which was to be two matches.

Richard Douglas has accepted a $1950 sanction for making negligent contact with umpire Stephen McBurney during the second quarter of the match between Adelaide and Collingwood.

Amon Buchanan has accepted a four-match suspension for engaging in rough conduct offence against Luke Hodge at the MCG last Sunday.

Colin Sylvia has accepted a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record for striking Dale Morris, Western Bulldogs, during the second quarter of the match between Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs, played at Telstra Dome last Sunday.

Daniel Kerr has accepted a three-match ban for striking Matthew White, Richmond, during the third quarter against Richmond. He’s no in trouble with the West Coast Leadership group.

  1. wow actually both released at same time.

Fair, hes a thug and deserves it, for those who crap on about “how can he get more than Hall” well simply they were both intentional, they were both severe impact, they were both striking, they were both out of the contest and dean solomons hit caused much more damage.

  2. Yeah i personally thought he’d get 5 or 6 weeks but i think that 8 is completely fair based on the damage that he did to poor old Lingy!

  3. Lingy is my boy, but that is way out of whack. how can he get more than Hall? If his arm is tucked in and he just makes hard body contact (sure its late) but its footy. Turning around and punching a guy out off the ball is simply NOT footy. 4,5 or 6 weeks i cld see as ok, but certainly not more than Hall. I dont feel the “result” of the hit shd factor into the punishment, but it always does.

  4. DJ his not a thug your being a softcock.

if this was a hit on any collingwood supporter you would have laughed it up.
theyobviously had some beef going on and solomon gave him one.
not the brightest out of the bunch.
6 weeks would have been the best way to go.
4 for how long lingy is out.
and however you get for an elbow.
but yeah as friday ses did you see halls hit?
if that got 7 and this got 8,
    what is this??

  5. soloman deserved 8 but it was still not as bad as hall’s hit which deserved more than the 7 weeks it got… solomon is a faggot coz hes ruined my dt and caused me to cough up another trade

  6. No, Solomon’s hit was worse! they all came under the same categories it incidental, off the play etc. people just think because its a punch its worse than an elbow, its not! seriously an elbow in the manner that solomon gave one is worse than halls left hand swing, how to prove it? it did more damage! cant be more simple than that.

  7. NOO!!!
    LINGY!!
    =[

  8. yea the hall hit was worse but the only reason solomon got more weeks is that he had carry-over points. i think it was about 89. whereas hall didnt have carryover points. if they both had a clean slate and the two incidents happened hall wouldve got more weeks.
