Pom’s Prices

It\'s time to say goodbye to your favourite rookies....This week i’ve decided to start by making an apology to the fans who listened to me intently. If you got either Andrew McF*ckhead or Adam McF*ck then i am sorry but i generally thought that they would bounce back. BUT!!!! Both have a low break even that they should make even if they have a another bad one, but seriously, with no Brad Sewell, i don’t think the Hawks have another good tagger that will nulify McLeod so here’s hoping that he has a biggy!!!!

Righto, Pom’s Prices, well we’ve come to that stage of the year that crushes the hearts of every Dream Team ranked from 100 to about 20,000 (anyone ranked inside top 100 is probably a robot without emotions and anyone outside of 20,000 doesn’t really care). It’s time to say goodbye to our beloved rookies or ‘cash cows’ who have made about +$200,000 and have finally peaked.

Read on for the two rookies to cash in and the two superstars who have bottomed out and are on the way up………

Austin Wonaeamirri

‘Wona’ as he is affectionately known, has been one of the stories of DT 2008 when he came off the rookie list to become a permanent memeber of many teams back line. He’s been averaging 69 points per round with a high of 97 against Freo (where he pretty much won the match for them) until the last two rounds where he’s fallen away slighly with scores of 42 and 64. His break even has gone up to 83 which based on current form he won’t make. Time to get rid of him and remember him as the player that made you $176, 400 from $72,600 not as a player that was good but is going down. His price is at $249,000 – quite handy if you have $100k or so in the bank.

Q: So who do you get? – A: This Guy

Sam Fisher - now is the time!!Sam Fisher

The backline has been pretty poor this year for almost every DT’er but this guy is coming good just in the nick of time. His price is currently at $341,800 -$29,700 down from his starting price and this guy is a gun. The ideal replacement for Wona as he is a DT star with an average of 91.33 (including 98 and 111 in his last two) and a break even of 50. He is expected to go up $11,100 next round so this is the time to get him in!!!

Cyril RioliCyril Rioli - peaked and time to move on

Noooo!!! Not Cyril!!! He has been an absoulute legend this year but unfortunately at 70.09 average per game can only bring you +$179,300 from $83,500 to $262,800. This week he met his break even exactly – his price changed $0 – pretty rare in DT. But I see it as a blessing in disguise as he has a break even of 82 which he is unlikely to make. Now is the time to get rid of him for a DT gun…..

Like……..

Paul Chapman

Paul Chapman - DT legendThis guy is legend! He was ranked 4th last year for average points a game (101 per game) but this year has struggled. He’s fallen -$71,800 in value including -$3,800 last round but now has well and truely bottomed out at $373,400 – yeah this guy is awesome. He’s averaging 90.78 this year anyway but before he got injured he had scores of 97 and 119. He’s had his week to get back to full fitness and now should be ready for biggy. His Break Even is 105 which is easily makeable for him (he also scored 101 against Port Adelaide last time they met) so jump on him now with a straight swap from Cyril Rioli.

  1. Very nice Pom, like the new format and all!

  2. ive got both sam fisher and paul chapman already and they are both legends. take poms advice and buy them.

  3. I’m thinking of upgrading Michael Osborne to Sam Fisher. Osbornes scores have been sucking the last few weeks.

My other thoughts are to sacrafice Osborne for Armfield but then upgrade Rioli to Buddy. Giving me a forward line of ROK, Pav, Chaps, JB, Dale Thomas, BJ and then Buddy.

Am I crazy like a coconut?

  4. nah good idea

Osbourne probably better than Rioli and that’s a very good trade….

Having said that with a forward line like that you probably don’t need to do that much upgrading whereas the backline sucks and someone like Sam Fisher is a much needed gun.

  5. I’m not convinced with Fisher just yet. I guess i’ll turn round eventually!

  6. can’t argue with a 91 point average…..

or 98 and 111 in his last two…….

  7. Another option is bartel hes at a low and im updtating selwood for him leavingm e with a ripper team
