The What If Phantom – Round 11

Welcome to the latest *NEW* segment on the Dream Team Couch, this one called ‘The What If Phantom’. What is ‘The What If Phantom’ you ask? Well all it does is tell you approximately what a player will rise in price if they score a certain score, for example; if Jonathan Brown scores 100 he drops $5,600 in value. If it seems confusing don’t worry you will get the hang of it pretty quickly.

So what has the phantom got in store for you today, we take a look at some big name guns who are in form slumps as well as some big name guns who are gunning it, big time, at the moment. So read on and enjoy what is the latest and greatest new segment in the AFL Dream Team community.

Heath Shaw (Collingwood) Defender $350,400
Heath Shaw is generally a dream team gun, apart from his last few weeks which have been very inconsistent, scoring 150, 40, 116, 21 in his last four games he dropped considerabley last week, so what’s he going to do this week? If he continues his slump and scores a 50 then he will drop approximately $24,000, if he has an average game, scoring 100 then he will also drop a further $8,000, if however he rips it up, as he is known to do and gets a 125 his price will rise but only by a couple of hundred dollars.

Jonathan Brown (Brisbane) Forward $366,900
Jonathan Brown was the must have pick at the beginning of the 2008 season however he did not show it in the first  rounds, dropping over $100,000 in value, luckily he has managed to regain his form and is now on the way back up, averaging 125.3 in his last 3 games big JB is back. So what’s going to happen to him this week? If he drops off again, scoring only a 75 then his value will still go up $24,900, however if he is to keep this ripping form and score a 125 then you can expect to see his value go up another $41,000.

Andrew McLeod (Adelaide) Defender $251,400
Unfortunately for Andy his price does not show a true indication of his talent. McLeod has been reguarded as one of the best in the game over the last few years and should be again this year apart from the form slump he is faced with. Averaging just over 38 in his last 3 games is terrible and his price has suffered for it, so lets see what McLeod’s price will do this week. If he continues his slump getting 50 his price will drop another $18,000, if he can get himself out of the slump and score a 100 then he will still drop $1,000, not good Andy!

Lance Franklin (Hawthron) Forward $403,900
Buddy has had a great year in 2008, really standing out as one of the premium forwards in the Dream Team competition his scores have been awesome, averaging 99.6 for the year what will happen to buddy this week? If Buddy really has a big one and score 150 his price will go up about $12,000, if he has an average game and scores 100 he will unfortunately drop in price by about $4,500, finally if Buddy has a shocker and only gets 75 he will drop nearly $13,000 in value. Keep those goals coming Buddy.

Dean Cox (West Coast) Ruck $420,000
The number one ruckmen in Dream Team by a loooonnggg shot and his price and scores reflect this, Big Cox has a 2008 season average of 108 and having a break even of 81 would suggest his price is going up. If Cox has a quiet game and gets 75 his price will drop $2,000, If Cox continues his fine form and gets a 125 he goes up $14,500 or 150 he goes up $22,700. It looks good for Dean Cox and hopefully for the nearly 78,000 people that have him in their sides he will continue to perform.

Well that’s it for now untill the phantom see’s you again next week………..

  9. isnt this the same as brake even bin?

  10. no it is not cravz, break even bin shows what a player must get to hold value, what if phantom shows how much a player will go up or down in value depending on what they score.
