Sometimes when we select players at the start of the year, we jump the gun and chuck a player in whatever position we feel like without thinking of the consequences. If there is a gun player who is classed as a backliner as well as a midfielder you should always select them as a backliner, it is a schoolboy error not to.
This is because the backline is one of the weaker sections to the dream team field even though you must select 7 players compared to the centre line of 6 players. With so much great players in the centre but limited spots, you want to make sure you can select your players the most effective way possible in the centre and having a backliner/centre or forward/centre in your midfield is not the greatest way in doing so.
Players such as Jake King and Chad Cornes which can be found in the backline and midfield, should be chosen in the backline to free up room in the middle and fill up room in the backline, as we all know this year hasn’t been the year of the DT backman. If you have the chance to purchase a midfield/backline player who racks up touches like a seedy computer technician, chuck him in the backline to avoid disappointment

i traded the chad into my midfield in round 3 because he was the best possible option and am glad i had him there instead of the backline coz when he got injured there were way better trade options
yeah but look at your backline!!!!!
(It’s shithouse)
Yeah Have to admit, despite you are one of our most loyal fans, Marcus, I am against you here, Even though i have chad cornes in the middle, i regret it, i wouldve much preffered him down back!
