Ok so by now you have probably heard all the talk and hype about this NEW AFL Dream Team Competition called ‘The Aurion V6 AFL PREMIUM Dream Team’ but you may not know exactly what it is and how it works, so i’ll tell you everything you need to know.
The Basics
Ok first things first, the basics. AFL Premium Dream Team is a competition which will run from round 10 through to round 22, It has the same idea behind it as regular dream team, you pick a team, the higher score your players get, the better you go. But there are some changes and catches. The one that i’ll mention now and get out of the way is the fact that there is a $12 entry fee, on the upside however you do receive a 60 page dream team guide, which I have found to be very helpful. Other changes revolve around picking your team, managing your team during competition and your league.
Picking your team
There are several major changes here to picking your team, There is NO calary cap or player values, that is pretty self explanitory. Now here comes the big one, YOU HAVE TO PICK YOUR TEAM THROUGH A DRAFT PROCESS WITH THE OTHER 9 PEOPLE IN YOUR LEAGUE, much like the AFL National Draft you will be given 60 seconds to make a selection, so no team in your league can have the same player. This really makes your knoweledge of the not so good players crucial. One thing staying the same however is the positions you must draft your team in backs, midfeilders, rucks and forwards.
Managing your Team during Competition
Because of the fact no team can have the same player this will again effect how the system works, this time it’s trading. Again much like the AFL system, you can trade with other teams in your league through offering them a deal or another team offerring you a trade. Also you can trade with a player that is not on anybody’s team list, aka a player that was not picked in the draft. You wil have a 3 trade per round limit on both of these trading options.
Your League
Because there are only 12 rounds of competition, there will only be 10 people allowed into your league, like normal dream team you can join a private league, enter a public league, start up your own league, however you can only be in one league. Entries close on May 27th so be in by then.
