Injury Update: Round 8 Part 2

Daniel Kerr will be on the sidelines for a few weeksWith many players having the week off last week, it should do some good in the footballing world. Yes there were unfortunately some injuries in the Tribute Match, and at training (good work Chad Jones, hate to put yourself out for 7 weeks by tripping over).

There are still a fair few DT guns who are having injury issues, popular DT players who are having injury issues are listed below.

WHO IS OUT :(

Brad Symes- Popular DT player who is still struggling with an ankle sprain, is expected to miss this week and hopefully be back for round 9. Maybe a very small chance to play but i wouldn’t buy it, if he is in your side your going to have to do some serious thinking about whether to stick with him or get him out, personally, im gonna get rid of him and chuck in P Burgoyne. His tribute match performance was sensational.

Bret Thortan- Still a fair while for this fella, round 12 at best.

Josh Fraser- Knee injury in tribute match which is not as bad as first expected, should be back round 10 if things go well.

Scott Lucas- Been out for 8 weeks now but could return in round 10, just giving a heads up for any DT’ers who are keen for a powerforward.

Luke Hodge- Hammy he pulled is going along as expected, will come back in round 11 hopefully. If you have him in your side 3 games is a fair few 0’s for a key player and there are plenty of good midfielders out there to do a swaparoony with.

Aaron Edwards- His fractured fibula wont be back until around round 15, an injury caused by tunneling many believe.

Chad Cornes- The Chad is looking at a round 10 return right now, still not too sure on exactly which week he will return but round 10 looks the go.

Andrew Raines- Round 9 return for Raines.

Nick Riewoldt- The gun from the saints wont be seeing any action until around round 11 due to his knee.

Steven King- Hammy cut him down in round 5 and then once more in round 7, looking at a round 10 return.

Daniel Kerr- Hurt his ankle in the tribute match, will probably miss a few weeks and be back round 11-12.

Matt Priddis- Could be back round 9 due to his Knee injury.

Scott West- Still being assesed with his knee injury, indefinate at this stage.

Brad Ottens- The big ruckman from geelong won’t return this week with Bomber Thompson telling the press Brad can’t overcome the final hurdle of his injury and that there is no set return date for the premeirship star.

WHO IS IN DOUBT

Simon Black- Pulled out from the cats clash as a late withdrawl because of a groin injury, also missed the tribute match. Muscle strains and tears are often hard to put a set date on when the player will be able to return, so Black is  probably a 50/50 to play at this stage. I reckon he might come back this week though.

Travis Johnstone- Not too sure about whether he will play this week, did his hammy in round 7 so has had a few weeks to recover, some say he is a 50/50 to play this weekend.

James Polkinhore- Like i have said before, he does have a silly name, but isnt a bad bench warmer. Will have a test to see if he can play this week.

Sam Lonergan- His hammy might be alright to play this week, will have a fitness test.

Mark Mcveigh- In the same boat as Lonergan, although his is a tad more serious and might not be in for a game for another week.

Luke McPharlin- Will have a test this week to see if his ‘Buttock Injury’ is alright for the weekend.

GARY ABLETT!!!- Thats right the champ could again miss this weekend! the calf isnt pulling up to well and i wouldnt  like my chances on him playing this weekend as they do play richmond and may want to give him another week to rest.

Nick Malceski- Classed him as in doubt as he may line up for the reserves this week, great news for malceski considering the seriousness of his Knee ACL.

WHO IS OK :)

Josh Drummond- Available to play after a quad strain.

Craig Bolton- Concussion in the Tribute match looks good to go this week.
